PMD Brakes

Product Logo

Features The Witton Kramer PMD range of brakes have been designed to meet the dimensional requirements laid down by DIN 15435. This standard was set primarily for thrustor operated brakes at a time when these were the only alternative to a.c. electromagnetic brakes.

The introduction of reliable silicone diode rectifiers made possible development of self contained d.c. brakes eaqualy suitable for d.c. shunt or series windings and a.c. supply, giving the advantage of smaller unit size at a much lower cost, and of eliminating the maintenance associated with thrustors.

Torques can be varied by adjusting the spring length if required.

Sizes 160mm – 630mm
Torques 88 N m – 2500 N m

PMA Brakes

Product Logo

Features This all-steel Mill Type brake complies with American standard AISE No.11 covering d.c. Mill Motor Brakes. The design enables operation on all d.c. supplies up to 660 volts, shunt and series wound, with ratings in accordance with the standard. For a.c. operations up to 575 volts the brakes can be supplied with either integral or seperate rectifier units.

A number of advanced features are incorperated in the brake design, the robust reliable construction ensuring trouble free operation and reducing maintenance to an absolute minimum.

The coil on a Witton Kramer PMA brake can be wound to suit any existing control equipment, or control gear can be supplied.

These brakes are used widely in steelworks and are interchangable with other popular more expensive makes.

PM Brakes

Product Logo

Features Witton Kramer PM short-stroke magnetic brakes are suitable for operation on a.c. supplies from 110 to 575 volts and on all d.c. supplies up to 550 volts and comply with the relevant paragraphs of BS 466. The brakes are 8 hour rated in any period of 24 hours and the a.c. versions are fitted with internal silicon diode rectifiers. Series-wound d.c. brakes give full torque at the one hour rating, pulling in at 60% or 40% of the full-load current, The design incorporates a number of advanced features which reduce maintenance to an absolute minimum

Brake shoes can be removed and replaced quickly, without dismantling the brake. Also the pins securing the brake shoes are retained by large spring clips which are easily removed and replaced.

Torque can be adjusted by increasing the spring length if required
