KT, TKF and KTX Thrustors

Product Logo

Electro-hydraulic Thrustors
HD Thrustor The KT Thrustor is a self contained electro-hydraulic unit and is operated by a standard D63 or D71 cage induction motor fitted with a cast iron frame and steel terminal box.

A CSA approved version can be supplied in all frame sizes and also a modified version is available for DIP applications.

The TKF Flameproof Thrustor has an integral stator / rotor unit in a flameproof enclosure for use in hazardous areas, certified to BS229 for Group I & II gases (petroleum and accetone vapours).

The KT and TKF Thrustors are designed to meet all relevant British Standard requirements They are carefully inspected and tested to ensure that they comply with these requirements, and are safe in operation.

The KTX Thrustors are explosion proof thrustors certified to EEx de Zone 1 Group II gas groups A, B and C, with a temperature class T4 available in thrustor sizes 1503 and above these thrustors are slightly taller (50mm approx.) than our standard models.

Electro-hydraulic Thrustors
HD Thrustor The HD Electro-hydraulic Thrustor has a compact single push rod design and can operate at any angle between horizontal and vertical.

The force is constant throughout the stroke and the push rod can be stopped at any point in its stroke without damage

The motor is Class F insulated as standard and the termainal box sides and cover are removeable for ease of connection of cables.

All thrustors are available with alternative mountings for interchangeability with other types if required.

TDWK Brakes

Product Logo

Electro-hydraulic Thrustor Operated Caliper Disc Brakes
Features The TDWK Disc Brake compliments the wide range of Witton Kramer drum brakes, and is suitable for all drives – particularly where high stopping energy is required.

TDWK brakes are suitable for a wide range of disc diameters, and can be mounted on one or both sides of a disc. The thrustor is symetrically positioned so the brake is not ‘handed’ as is usually the case with brakes of this type.

They are operated by the Witton Kramer HD thrustor which can be interchangeable with other European thrustors if required – these can be fitted without modifying the brake.

The brakes are A.C. operated from supplies up to 660 Volts, 50/60 Hz and are designed for demanding applications such as on heavy duty cranes, conveyors and process lines.

Sizes TDWK1 – TDWK 4
Torques 155 N m – 19,200 N m

Electro-hydraulic Thrustor Operated Drum Brakes

Features Witton Kramer MHWK Brakes have a fixed torque, and no external springs. This means the torque cannot be changed inadvertantly, the torque springs are protected from the environment inside the thrustor and thus makes the brake very competitive.

The brakes are A.C. operated from supplies up to 660 Volts, 50/60 Hz and are designed for demanding applications such as on heavy duty cranes, conveyors and process lines.

The brakes comply with the British standard, BS 466 and with the requirements of the German standard DIN 15435 in respect of drum diameter, shoe width, shoe clearance, fixing centres and centre height, and fixing bolt holes.

Sizes 160mm – 500mm
Torques 190 N m – 5150 N m

Features Witton Kramer MEWK Brakes have their torque spring(s) protected from the environment in an enclosed steel tube, which is fitted with a torque indicator, the MEWK brakes can also be fitted with a manual release lever.

They operate with special versions of the Witton Kramer HD thrustor which are interchangeable with other European thrustors if required – these can be fitted without modifying the brake.

The MEWK Brakes can also be fitted with Witton Kramer KT Industrial thrustors and TKF Flameproof thrustors.

The brakes are A.C. operated from supplies up to 660 Volts, 50 / 60 Hz and are designed for demanding applications such as on heavy duty cranes, conveyors and process lines.

The brakes comply with the British standard, BS 466 and with the requirements of the German standard DIN 15435 in respect of drum diameter and width, shoe clearance, fixing centres and centre height, and fixing bolt holes.

Sizes 160mm – 720mm
Torques 185 N m – 7300 N m
